Privacy

This page describes what WhatNext actually does today, in version 0.1.

What we store

Your email address and sign-in credentials (handled by our authentication provider), your display name, your genre preferences, theme choice, your saved shows with statuses, ratings, private notes and “recommended by” text, your Circles and memberships, invitations you create, and recommendations you publish to a Circle.

What stays private

Everything in your list is private by default. Private notes, “recommended by” text and your email address are never shown to other people, including members of your Circles.

What your Circles can see

  • Shows you explicitly recommend to that Circle, with your name and optional note.
  • If — and only if — you switch on “Share watched shows and ratings” for that Circle: shows you marked Watched and the rating you gave them.

Switching sharing off, or leaving the Circle, stops that access immediately on the server. It cannot undo what someone already saw.

Analytics

Product analytics is off until you turn it on in your profile. When enabled, we send pseudonymous usage events (such as “a search was submitted”) to KinnmanAI’s internal Command service. We never send show names, your ratings, your search text, your notes, Circle names or invitation links. Some limited operational records are necessary to run your account and are described here rather than covered by that switch.

Export and deletion

You can export your own data as JSON and delete your account from your profile. Deleting removes your personal records and the Circles you choose to delete. If you own a Circle you must transfer it or delete it first.

Not included

We make no certification claims, no fixed retention promises and no response-time guarantees. Operator contact details are pending configuration by the app owner.
